Cardio Core

South Austin Gym also offers one-hour cardio core classes, providing 30 minutes of cardiovascular training and 30 minutes of core training (the core is the muscles that surround and protect the spine).

This class uses stabilization and weight bearing activities such as ladders, jump ropes, steps, stairs, and medicine balls. These provide an intense but safe workout which burns more than 500 calories. This class is open to all abilities and fitness levels.

 

 

Functional Resistance Circuit

Our one-hour functional resistance circuit class increases strength while keeping your heart rate elevated. Functional resistance exercises enhance balance and strength through motions that mimic everyday movements.

The class usually includes balancing unstable objects to strengthen your stabilization muscles, which helps prevent everyday injuries and burns more calories.

This class is open to all abilities and fitness levels.
