Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

South Austin Gym offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes focusing on ground fighting and grappling for sport and and self defense. Effective for any body type, this martial art focuses on technique and leverage rather than strength and aggression.

For women, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the best self-defense for rape prevention since attackers usually seize their victim and control them on the ground. In our classes, you’ll learn a variety of skills including positions, take-downs, submissions and reversals.
